Lara Oundjian is an interdisciplinary artist, danser, and performance maker. Her practice is centred around relationality, approaching the body as dynamically entangled with its environment. She researches modes of perception, and creates from an interest in the passage between internal and external space. She’s invested in intersectional feminisms both in daily experience and in creation methodology.
Lara has presented choreographic work at The Phenomena Festival (2017), Tangente (2019) OFFTA (2020 and 2021), Summerworks (2022), and La Chapelle Scenes Contemporaines (2024). She was resident artist at the Third Floor Projects in Montreal’s Usine C from 2019-2021, at La Serre from 2020-2021, and at La Bellone in Brussels in 2023.
Lara is of mixed European and Middle Eastern heritage—specifically with Swiss, Armenian, British and Ashkenazi Jewish roots. She is a 3rd generation immigrant to North America, born and raised in the suburbs of New York City and currently based in Montreal / Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang.
